Comprehensive Initial Evaluations

Your first visit is more than just an introduction—it’s the foundation of your care. Our comprehensive evaluations are designed to create clarity, accuracy, and a thoughtful path forward.

  • Every new patient at Wonder Years begins with a thorough psychiatric assessment. These evaluations often include input from family members and other professionals involved in the patient’s care. The goal is not only to assess symptoms, but to understand how they impact personal, academic, social, and occupational functioning.

  • In addition to the in-person visit, our clinicians may gather insights from therapists, pediatricians, primary care doctors, neuropsychologists, teachers, or school counselors depending on the patient’s age and situation. This collaborative, whole-person approach offers a more complete clinical picture. By understanding how symptoms have evolved over time, we can make more accurate diagnoses, develop informed treatment plans, and track progress moving forward.

  • Whether seeking care for the first time or transferring from another provider, a comprehensive evaluation helps ensure treatment is built on a strong foundation of insight and understanding. It improves diagnostic accuracy and helps patients and families feel informed and empowered, which leads to stronger engagement and better outcomes.
